Everyone is invited to join the Tank 2 Tank aqua-thon, featuring refreshing ocean swim starting at A.J.’s Restaurant/Bar out to the submerged Tank and a run on the Pathway to the Japanese Tank (Quartermaster Rd.) Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Race starts at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee: $20.00 per individualor $30.00 per team (includes a t-shirt and breakfast at A.J’s. Category: 100m swim and 1km run (8 yrs.), 200mswim and 2km run (9-12 yrs.), 500m and 2km run (13-16 yrs.), 1km swim and 5km run (17 & older (Open), 1km swim and 5km run (40 & older-Masters), 500m and 2km swim (Anything Goes Division). Swimmers may use mask, fins, snorkel and lifejacket in Anything Goes Division. Teams must do the longest course to qualify for the team. 3rd Annual Eagle Ray 7k Swim
One of Saipan’s beautiful swim will take place from Paupau Beach to Managaha Island with 7000m total over some of Saipan’s most beautiful corals and sea life. Easier swim as currents are with swimmers. Cost to participate is $15.00 (local residents) & $30.00 (off-islanders), which includes picnic at Managua Island, an event t-shirt and a boat ride back to Saipan. 2008 Annual Christmas Walk in the Marianas
Coincides with the start of the Christmas celebration in the Marianas. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Chamolinian Cultural Village, Inc. Registration fee is $6.00; 5 km and a 10 km routes are available. The walk is held along the Friends of the Saipan Beach Pathway built along the beautiful shores of Saipan lined up with flowering flame trees, coconut palms and ironwood trees that give shade and scenic beauty to the pathway.
